Title : USING MIND MAPPING TECHNIQUE
TO IMPROVE READING COMPREHENSION OF THE SECOND YEAR STUDENTS
Author : Wirda, Hanafie Sulaiman,
Wahyudin
Review :
This study found out the effect of using mind
mapping technique to improve reading comprehension of thr second year students.
This study also investigated their attitudes in classroom towards generating
mind mapping. The researcher explained how to use mind mapping technique and
many details about mind mapping technique in teaching and learning of reading
comprehension.
The
researcher used pre-experimental research design. It means that in conducting
the research, the researcher used one class as sample without control group. By
using this design, the researcher administered pre-test before the treatment
and post-test was conducted after the treatment. Furthermore, to determine the
sample of this research, the researcher used cluster sampling technique.
The
result of the calculation showed that there was significant difference between
the students’ mean score on pre-test and post-test. In other words, the
students’ achievement got improved. The students become more active in class
and get better knowledge to comprehend reading comprehension by using mind
mapping technique.
Hi Widy. Thankyou for reviewing the technique of reading. I do agree that having a good technique in reading is so important to make us easily in catching the idea. However, I think it would be better if you give a brief explanation about the procedure in implementing this mind mapping technique while reading. I do believe that this is a very useful technique, but in this review I have not gotten what to do by using this technique. Could you please give me a brief procedure to use this technique ? Anyway, thankyou Widy :)
BalasHapusHai widdy, you concern about mind mapping to reading. It is nice, it means you have passion on it while determining passion in particular field is still difficult for me. Fighting for your research...
